We booked a large room for 4 hours on a Saturday night and when we arrived, our room wasn't available right away. I am happy to say that it was sorted out but if I hadn't of noticed, it would have been an expensive karaoke night for me! Sure enough they didn't actually process it properly. A week later, still no refund on my credit card so I called to find out what happened. The manager agreed and did the whole process to refund me.

So annoying! To try and avoid this, when I arrived I asked them to refund my deposit and we would pay the full amount split amongst the 10 of us in cash. I hate putting a deposit down when you are doing karaoke with a group of friends and then having to divide it up after the fact. What's also new is that they required a $50+ deposit (which I get because I can imagine they would get a lot of no shows) but that being said, just take my credit card and don't charge me right away. By the time I did that, my preferred date (a month out) was booked up. I don't think someone got back to me for quite some time and when they did, i was advised that I needed to email another address. I reached out via email to the same email address that I normally did (because they are only reachable late in the evenings via telephone). I have been here a handful of times and am used to how they normally did their reservations. Hopefully they add more songs in the future. I'd recommend taking a taxi to avoid this all together though. There is no parking, but you might be able to find a spot on Gerard or in the Eaton centre. There was only one person working front of house on a Saturday evening.

Staff was great, but sometimes hard to track down. To search songs you can use an smart phone app or an ipad which is soo much better than most placed. And their selection, though nice and large is sooo obscure, for example they'll have a popular artist, but not their most popular song. It threw us off for a few songs and it was disappointing when you were expecting to sing your heart out. However, one draw back we noticed was a lot of the songs were covers and not the original version. If you have more than two people the prices are pretty decent.

Some places offer to decorate or give you a free drink, but not here. I went for my birthday, but unfortunately they don't offer any promotion for that. Their food and drink prices are very reasonable and since their food menu is limited to mainly snacks (Shrimp, nuggets, etc) you are allowed to bring in outside food. They care about this place, the floors aren't sticky, the couches are in good condition and the lighting is nice, equipment is up to date. The decor and layout is really swanky and it puts you at ease. Some people prefer to sing in front of a crowd, others prefer a private room with friends.īar + offers an unmatched private room experience.
